Scott R. Conley, Ph.D.

Professional Level

Dr. Scott Conley is a Patent Agent with Frost Brown Todd LLC.  His area of concentration is in patent prosecution with an emphasis is the area of chemistry and pharmaceuticals. He has represented a variety of clients, from small start-up companies to large multi-national corporations to university researchers.

In graduate school, he worked in the area of organic chemistry on the synthesis of natural products in the laboratory of K.C. Nicolaou at The Scripps Research Institute. Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd, Dr. Conley spent nine years at the Eastman Kodak Company working as a synthetic organic chemist for small molecules for use as photographic couplers in photographic film and materials for Organic Light Emitting Diodes (OLED). He invented a new material currently in use in commercial OLED panels.

These experiences have provided Dr. Conley with an understanding of the process for developing and bringing new products to market.  He has eight granted U.S. patents and eight pending U.S. applications.  His last two years at Kodak were spent as an Intellectual Property Coordinator for the OLED materials area. 

Dr. Conley is admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.  He is attending night law school at Salmon P. Chase, Northern Kentucky University, and expects to graduate in 2011.
