Diversity at Frost Brown Todd

Frost Brown Todd is strongly committed to making diversity more than a buzzword. Under the direction of the Firm’s management, a Diversity Committee has been established with representation from every office. The Firm’s goal is to create an inclusive environment welcoming to all.

The mission of the Frost Brown Todd Diversity Committee is to assist the Firm in promoting practices and procedures favorable to the recruitment, retention, community involvement and professional advancement and elevation of a diverse group of lawyers within the Firm.

Addressing the changing needs of today's diverse workforce, Frost Brown Todd recently appointed Kimberly S. Amrine as the Firm's first Director of Diversity. Ms. Amrine will coordinate and implement the Firm's diversity initiatives throughout each of its seven regional offices. In addition, Ms. Amrine will identify and recommend ideas and programs that contribute to a diverse organization in terms of recruiting and retention of a diverse workforce, for both attorneys and staff. She will also be actively involved in various community programs focusing on diversification.

Diversity celebrates differences of every kind, not just the traditional "protected categories" prescribed by statute. FBT is a place where the collective effort of running a business productively and professionally is seen not only as consistent with, but dependent upon those individual differences.

The Firm is proud to share a few of the things it has done to make this mission statement a reality: the Diversity Committee has worked closely with management and diversity consultant Hattie Hill Enterprises, Inc. to implement specific strategies for success, including a Firm-wide training program; in-house learning opportunities on such topics as diversity and workplace harassment; a formal and well-publicized EEO complaint procedure; work/life programs such as flex and part-time work schedules; a formal mentoring program with the goal of creating a positive Firm culture and increasing the retention of valued Associates; the Firm has long been an active partner with organizations with diversity as a shared goal, including the Greater Cincinnati Minority Counsel Program, bar associations, colleges, universities, and many of our corporate clients; and attorneys’ leadership roles in such organizations as the Urban League, YMCA Black Achievers and CREW – Commercial Real Estate Women. The Firm also has sponsored the FBT Women’s Initiative which focuses primarily on the retention and development of female attorneys. For futher information, see our "Women’s Initiative" page.

Frost Brown Todd recognizes that a diverse organization is not only “right,” but is essential to achieving our business objectives. The Firm has made a long term commitment to the hiring and advancement of women and minority attorneys, and seeks to hire the best lawyers from all groups represented in our society.
