Sr. Accountant

Frost Brown Todd, a prestigious law firm of 900+ legal professionals and staff in 12 offices located throughout Middle America, is currently searching for a Senior Accountant for their Cincinnati Office. The Senior Accountant will assist the Firm's Director of Accounting, Tax, and Reporting, in providing quality financial reporting to the Firm's Members, Executive Committee, Finance Committee, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Five years of experience with at least three years of public accounting experience.

• Experience in tax preparation and financial reporting.

• Possess strong analytic skills necessary to interpret and react to key data.

• Advanced Excel skills for preparation of various management reports.

Duties

• Preparation of the Firm’s monthly financial statements, including supplemental billing, collection, and accounts receivable aging reports.

• Weekly preparation of cash receipts, billing, accounts receivable aging, and unbilled inventory reports.

• Preparation of various ad hoc reports at the request of the Chief Financial Officer or Director of Accounting, Tax, and Reporting.

• Accounting for the Members' paid-in-capital balances, including the annual calculation of the Members' required paid-in-capital balances.

• Responsible for assembling the Firm's financial information required for the Firm's annual audit, and coordinate communication of that information to the independent auditors.

• Timely payment of the Firm's quarterly payments of estimated income tax. Also, timely withholding of state income taxes from Members' draw payments.

• Filing of various compliance reports, such as the Firm's quarterly Ohio commercial activity tax return.

• The annual calculation of each Member's share of firm net income and the amounts to be distributed to each Member.

• Compilation of all income tax related information in preparation of the Firm's federal, state, and local income tax returns.

• Preparation of reports for the Firm's Members summarizing each Member's share of pass-through income tax items, distributions of income, distribution or withholding of paid-in-capital, etc., to be sent to each Member along with all pass-through income tax informational returns, such as the federal K-1.

• Timely answer to Members' inquiries in regards to income taxes, distributions of income, and other Firm financial information.

Records Center Assistant

The individuals will be responsible for a variety of duties which include preparing files, retrieving and shelving files as well as handling the database administration of all on-site and off-site files. The individuals may assist support staff with routine filing and other file related projects as needed. This position will also be cross-trained as back up for the front desk. At least 1-2 years of experience in a professional office setting is required and previous experience with records management a plus but not required. We seek two team players with excellent communication and interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients and staff whether in person, via email, or by telephone.
