Columbus

Litigation Paralegal

Frost Brown Todd  is currently searching for an experienced Litigation Paralegal for its Columbus office.

Requirements

Candidates should have 5+ years of experience in litigation.  Experience with federal and state electronic filing, trial preparation and support, complex file management, electronic discovery and organizing large document productions is preferred.  The ideal candidate will have experience drafting basic litigation filings such as subpoena preparation, service waivers, removals, foreclosure filings, judgment certifications and garnishments.  The paralegal will be supporting attorneys involved in real estate litigation, construction cases, bad faith insurance defense and commercial or multi-family foreclosures and experience in those areas will be considered a plus.     

This position requires a minimum of a Paralegal diploma/certificate with a college degree preferred. Candidates should have strong verbal and written communication skills; proficient computer skills using MS Office applications and Summation (or other comparable litigation document management software); flexibility to work overtime as needed; good organizational skills; ability to work well under deadlines; and excellent interpersonal skills. This position will provide litigation support; support and assistance with corporate and business transactions; will maintain and update files; coordinate scheduling; and, will obtain and analyze various records and data.

Legal Secretary

The ideal candidate will possess at least 3-5 years of general legal experience and will assist attorneys in several areas of legal specialty. Although mainly litigation and labor  work, this position will also occasionally assist FBT attorneys with other areas of law. The position requires an individual with a strong sense of independent thinking and resourcefulness. Due to the small number of support staff in the office, the individual in this position will also occasionally assist with other general office responsibilities such as greeting clients and other visitors, conference room setup, office supplies and other general office duties as needed.

The position requires an experienced legal secretary with exceptional skills including excellent administrative, communication and organizational skills. The team player we seek must possess exceptional MS Word (65 wpm), grammar, spelling, attention to detail and proofreading skills. This individual must also have the ability to handle multiple tasks and become an integral part of client service. The successful candidate must possess a can-do and flexible attitude and stand ready to assist as needed in any office support area.
