Frost Brown Todd Adds Leading Cincinnati Public-Private Partnership and Construction Lawyer
Frost Brown Todd is pleased to announce the arrival of Thomas L. Gabelman as a Member in the firm’s Construction Law Group. Gabelman formerly was with Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease, where he served as legal counsel in the commercial and real estate practice group.
In his 28-year career, Gabelman has developed substantial expertise in the public-private partnership arena, with a focus on developing large, complex projects throughout the region.
Gabelman has served as Project Counsel to Hamilton County, Ohio since 1997 with respect to the negotiation and implementation of multiple funding, financing, development and construction agreements pertaining to the $2.5 billion redevelopment of Ohio’s Southern Gateway. These projects include the modification and demolition of Cinergy Field, the design and construction of the Great American Ball Park, the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center, Paul Brown Stadium, U.S. Bank Arena, and the implementation of the $800 million Banks Project. The Banks Project represents one of the largest public-private partnerships undertaken in Ohio, including major public transportation improvements combined with up to 3 million square feet of private development. Gabelman also serves as counsel to the Build Our Bridge Now Coalition, comprised of the region’s business, labor and community leaders, focused on advancing the construction of the $2.7 billion Brent Spence Bridge Corridor Project. Gabelman also serves as Special Project Counsel to Butler County, Ohio on the $400 million Liberty Town Square mixed-use development project.
Gabelman will practice out of both the Cincinnati, Ohio and Florence, Kentucky offices of Frost Brown Todd, in the areas of project development and construction law, where he joins a highly regarded team of commercial and construction attorneys including the Chair-Elect of the ABA Forum on the Construction Industry, Terry Brookie, and the Chair-Elect Designee of the ABA Fidelity & Surety Law Committee, David Olson.
