International team launches Japanese site
For decades, our firm has assisted Japanese companies invest and grow their presence throughout Middle America, and we are honored to serve as counsel for their U.S. operations. The firm has also helped many U.S. companies succeed in their endeavors in Japan. This extensive involvement has led to the creation of FBT’s Japan Desk, which combines a group of attorneys from different practice areas with a focus on the Japanese market. Their combined skillsets allow us to handle a wide range of legal issues common during the start-up and day-to-day operations of companies in the United States, Japan and other parts of the world.
As co-chair of FBT’s Japan Desk, John Baker has 15 years of experience living and working in Japan. With native fluency in both written and spoken Japanese, John recently launched a new version of the firm’s Japan Desk website, fully in Japanese (www.fbtjapandesk.com). John focuses his law practice on advising multinational businesses in corporate and commercial matters, and has developed his unique insight into the needs of multinational clients by working for both Japanese and U.S. companies. Robert Hust, also co-chair of the Japan Desk is a member of FBT’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. Bob previously served as assistant vice president, general counsel, corporate secretary and compliance office at Honda of America Mfg., Inc. In his more than 20 years at Honda, Bob provided practical and strategic legal and business advice on all aspects of the company’s operations. He also supervised legal services for Honda production operations in the United States.
