Frost Brown Todd Mourns the Passing of One of its Partners, L. Jude Clark, Jr.

Frost Brown Todd is saddened by the passing of one of its partners, L. Jude Clark, Jr. on January 29, 2010.  Mr. Clark was Chair of Frost Brown Todd’s Real Estate Practice group, a position he held since 2006.

A Member of the firm for nearly 10 years, Mr. Clark’s practice covered a broad array of Real Estate law including commercial transactions, workouts and restructuring, sub-prime lending, and land use and zoning. Widely recognized as a leader in the practice of Real Estate Law, Mr. Clark was elected a Fellow in the prestigious American College of Mortgage Attorneys. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America® and Chambers USA® for the past five years, was selected for inclusion in Super Lawyers® for the past three years and earned the highest rating of AV by Martindale Hubbell®.

 

“Jude leaves us much too early, and we are deeply saddened.  He was an important leader of our firm, an exceptional lawyer with the highest integrity and, most of all, a dear friend," said John R. Crockett III, the firm's Chairman.  "He was a devoted husband and father, and we extend deepest sympathy to his family, with gratitude to them for sharing Jude with us for so many years."

 

Mr. Clark earned his Juris Doctorate from the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville in 1981 after completing his undergraduate degree at the University of Kentucky. He was an active member of the Real Estate Property Sections of the American Bar Association, The Kentucky Bar Association, The Louisville Bar Association, and The Indiana State Bar Association. In addition, he was also a member of the Kentucky Chapter of the CCIM and the national Mortgage Brokers Association.

 

A strong community advocate, Mr. Clark sat on the Board of Trustees of the St. Francis High School and was a member of the Board of Directors of the Cain Center for the Disabled.  He was also a cycling enthusiast and was a member of the Louisville Masters Bicycle Racing Team.
