Forbes Magazine ranks Lexington 14th in the top 20 Best Places for Business and Careers in the nation for 2003. This fifth annual ranking is based on income and job growth, cost of doing business, qualifications of the labor pool, crime rates, housing costs, and net migration. Forbes also recognized Lexington as 4th in the 2003 Best Places in terms of business costs.
In 2003,
Expansion Management Magazine ranked Lexington 7th it its first Annual Mayor’s Challenge. This report identified the best places in the U.S. to locate a company. The two most important of the components of this report were the availability of educated reliable labor and operating costs. Besides these, the study included quality of life, infrastructure and other variables.
