The Harrison County Board of Commissioners heard a report Monday evening during its regular meeting from Mike Biberstine, an attorney with Frost Brown Todd LLC, the Indianapolis firm the county hired to lobby for its riverboat gaming revenue with the state legislature.

Biberstine focused on House Bill 1540, which was passed during the House's most recent session.

With the help of local officials, state politicians and Frost Brown Todd, an amendment was passed to the bill striking the locally detrimental aspects of the bill.

Harrison County officials traveled to Indianapolis to meet with state legislators, including Speaker of the House Brian Bosma, to ensure the original bill was amended.

Biberstine said he couldn't underestimate the importance of the county officials making the trip to meet with Bosma.
