Cincinnati is becoming a magnet for Finnish companies

Cincinnati business leaders are tapping an unusual source to get overseas companies to expand here: Finland.

The region has lured three Finnish companies in the past six months, and more are on the way, Anne Cappel, executive director of the European American Chamber of Commerce – Greater Cincinnati, told me.

“We’re putting a lot of resources in Finland,” Cappel said. “The Finnish economy is not doing well now. They’re desperate for internationalization, and it seems like it’s not super competitive. Everybody is recruiting Germany.”
