Louisville CPA looks to raise $10 million to build a hotel in the Highlands

Glenn Barber always has been bothered by the lack of hotels in the Highlands.

So two years ago, Barber, a CPA, began researching how he could build one.

Barber now co-owns three properties on Bardstown Road, where he is looking to build a $10 million boutique hotel called Hotel Louie, with 52 rooms and a rooftop restaurant and bar.

To raise the funds, he wants to leverage an updated regulation under President Obama's JOBS Act that increases the amount of capital that can be raised through equity crowdfunding while extending the opportunity for investment to the general public.
