The appeal of Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS or “drones”) in the healthcare industry is undeniable.   UAS have the potential to provide scene assessment, a remote link to a health care provider, or emergency medical equipment much more rapidly than manned aircraft or ground ambulance services.  Moreover, the cost of maintaining a drone and the risk associated with its deployment are far less than manned vehicles.   This means that UAS be a critical part of emergency medicine, telemedicine, or even preventative healthcare programs.
