Local chambers of commerce are working to inform area businesses of new federal wage and hour regulations taking effect Dec. 1.

The Clermont County Chamber of Commerce hosted a seminar on the topic earlier this year. The Anderson Area Chamber of Commerce is hosting a seminar on the impending changes from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 10, at Anderson Center, 7850 Five Mile Road.

Jeff Shoskin, a partner with Frost Brown Todd, will review the new regulations and how they will impact businesses.

“I feel there are a lot of business owners who don’t know what they don’t know about the changes that will impact their business starting Dec. 1,” Anderson Chamber President and CEO Eric Miller said.

The Labor Department estimates an additional 4.2 million executive, administrative and professional workers who earn above the old threshold, but below the new one will be entitled to time-and-a-half wages for each hour they work beyond 40 a week, the Anderson Chamber shared in a press release.
