Longtime Louisville Legal Aid chief retiring

After 23 years of service to the Legal Aid Society of Louisville, Executive Director Jeff Been has announced that he will retire by early 2016, or when a new executive director is in place.

Legal Aid clients include primarily low-income people.

Been has been with Legal Aid for more than 25 years, first in Indiana, and then in Kentucky. In Louisville he has held a number of positions, including director of the HIV/AIDS Legal Project. He has been the Louisville organization’s staff chief for more than a decade.
