Project will benefit economy, too, says emeritus professor
The outlook was bleak for the Ohio River Bridges Project before 2007.
It had been decided in 2003 that the project would include two bridges, but money was scarce for the undertaking and politicians weren’t motivated to make it happen.
“It was not moving at all,” said Ed Glasscock, the chairman emeritus of Frost Brown Todd Law Firm in Louisville. “And that’s the point where Joe Reagan [former president of Greater Louisville Inc.] finally said, ‘we’ve got to get the business community involved because it’s obvious the political leadership is not going to step up until they see significant support from the business community.’”
