Phil Schworer has been named the new Board Chair of the Dorothy Wood Foundation (DWF), which oversees the endowment for Redwood Rehabilitation Center.

Schworer’s appointment to this position comes after the passing of the Foundation’s founding board chair – the late Wm. T. (Bill) Robinson III.

Schworer has been affiliated with Redwood for over 30 years and with the DWF since 2010.  His leadership service to Redwood includes 20 years of service as a trustee, board president, Development Council Chair, Redwood Express co-chair with his wife Lynn for multiple years, Promise & Potential Capital Campaign chair (raised $6.5 million), and philanthropic support to advance Redwood’s mission.  To recognize Schworer’s commitment to Redwood, he has received the Dorothy Jean Wood Award with his wife Lynn, the President’s Award, and the designation of Trustee Emeritus.
