Thomas H. Lee Joins Frost Brown Todd’s Nashville Office

January 3, 2011

Frost Brown Todd LLC is pleased to announced that longtime Tennessee government relations practitioner and public strategist Thomas H. Lee has joined the firm as a partner in the Nashville office.

Lee has three decades of experience as a government relations counsel, lobbyist, attorney, journalist, and strategist.  His firm, BlairBlvd LLC, specializes in building and investing political capital for its clients.

“Tom has created a service model to meet the full range of needs for clients seeking to shape, manage, and respond to public policy changes,” said John Crockett, chairman of Frost Brown Todd.  “Tom is recognized as a thought leader, with a practice based in Nashville that is national in scope and quality—exactly what we’re looking for as we grow our services in Tennessee and across the region.”

“I’m excited to be joining Frost Brown Todd,” Lee said.  “The firm has strong practices in five state capitals.  As the largest law firm with a major presence in Nashville, Frost Brown Todd has the perfect platform upon which to build a regional government relations powerhouse.”

Lee is a graduate of the Vanderbilt University School of Law, where he was executive editor of the Vanderbilt Law Review and graduated Order of the Coif, and the University of Tennessee, where he earned a bachelor of science in communications.  He is a former partner in the Nashville firm of Waller Lansden Dortch & Davis, where he specialized in government relations and civil litigation.  He is AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, and served on the Tennessee Judicial Council.  Lee is also the former chair of the Metropolitan Convention Center Commission, and was an Emmy-award winning television journalist.

Also joining Frost Brown Todd as director of government relations in the Nashville office is Brenda Gadd.  Gadd has seven years experience in land use and development, environmental regulation, and lobbying from her work with the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation and as staff director for the Tennessee Senate Environment & Conservation Committee.  She is a graduate of Maryville College, where she majored in political science.

Lee and Gadd will join Frost Brown Todd in January.  Lee is the fourth Nashville attorney to join Frost Brown Todd in the past year, along with well-known bankruptcy specialists Bobby Guy and Robin Bicket White.
