Former Honda General Counsel Joins Frost Brown Todd

October 16, 2012

Frost Brown Todd expands its automotive industry team with the addition of Robert L. Hust. Hust has joined the firm from Honda of America Manufacturing, Inc. (Honda) where he served as Assistant Vice President, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Compliance Officer.  He brings over 21 years of counsel experience and a deep knowledge of the expanding automotive industry to the firm.

While at Honda, Hust was involved in ground-breaking projects such as the selection and acquisition for its new automobile manufacturing facility located in Greensburg, Indiana. He also served as co-chair of the Risk Management Committee, and was a former chair of the Retirement Committee. For eight years, Hust led the litigation and employment-labor groups and was involved in creating the first affirmative action plan after Honda became a government subcontractor. He was also significantly involved in resolving two class-action lawsuits by defeating class certification without settlement.

Hust is joining Frost Brown Todd’s labor and employment practice group and will be located in the Cincinnati office. He will focus primarily on the firm’s rapidly growing automotive industry group.

“We are thrilled Bob is joining the team and are excited to see the perspective and breadth of knowledge he will bring to our auto initiatives and to our clients,” says George Yund, Managing Member of Frost Brown Todd. Hust will work with long-time FBT automotive practitioners, Robert Sartin in the firm’s Nashville office, Steve Ellcessor in the Columbus office, and Bill Hayes in the Cincinnati office.

Originally from Cincinnati, Hust brings more than just his legal expertise to the city.  He also hosts a weekly radio show called “Undercurrents,” which broadcasts Americana music.
