Lloyd Milliken Receives Inaugural Award from the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence

Frost Brown Todd member Lloyd Milliken was presented the inaugural Richard T. Boyette Award for Outstanding Service at the 10th anniversary celebration of the National Foundation for Judicial Excellence (NFJE) in Chicago on July 18. The NFJE is a not-for-profit organization with a mission to provide continuing legal education for state appellate court judges. Over 1,200 judges have attended the NFJE’s ten annual judicial symposiums.                                                       

In 2004, Richard T. Boyette initiated the creation of NFJE while serving as president of the Defense Research Institute (DRI). Mr. Milliken was the chair of the organizational committee and then served as first NFJE President from 2004 until 2006. He has continued to serve on the board of directors.

Mr. Milliken has been a member of the Indiana Bar Association for 53 years. He has served as president of DRI, the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and the Board of Education of the Metropolitan School District of Lawrence Township. He is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and of the Indiana University Maurer School of Law Academy of Law Alumni.
