With extensive experience in industrial development financing, Frost Brown Todd has acted as the premier bond counsel for such financings for over 25 years. Our lawyers work closely with all major commercial banks in structuring letter of credit backed financings and variable rate demand debt which have been the financing vehicle of choice in recent years. We have worked with all major bankers in the area including Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, BB&T, Fifth Third, National City, PNC, U.S. Bank and Wells Fargo Bank.
Our Role in Economic Development
We have in-depth experience working with companies to obtain incentives in Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana and Tennessee and have helped negotiate incentive packages and structure tax-exempt and taxable financings for infrastructure or direct capital incentives for numerous companies. We served as counsel for Papa John's International in assisting it in obtaining and negotiating millions of dollars in tax incentives for its corporate headquarters in Jefferson County, Kentucky; represented UPS International in assisting and obtaining tax and other incentives for its billion dollar expansion at the Louisville International Airport, and assisted Citicorp in obtaining unique tax advantages in Northern Kentucky and in Metro Louisville.
Single and Multi-Family Housing Bonds
- Frost Brown Todd has acted as bond counsel and as counsel to developers, issuers and underwriters on numerous single and multi-family mortgage revenue bond issues.
Acted as bond or corporation counsel to the Kentucky Housing Corporation, Housing Authority of Louisville and the Cincinnati Metropolitan Housing Authority.
Acted as bond counsel to numerous private developers providing innovative and creative financing for low and moderate income housing.
One of the members of the group was the founding chairman in 1987 of what is now the Housing Partnership Inc., a highly successful agency in providing safe, and affordable housing to low- and moderate-income families in the Louisville metropolitan area.
