Chuck represents national and regional companies in litigation involving products liability, with a concentration in serial tort, medical device and pharmaceutical litigation.  Chuck has tried dozens of cases before juries in state and Federal courts in Kentucky. 

After graduating from law school, Chuck served for two years as a Law Clerk to Justices Boyce G. Clayton and Roy N. Vance of the Supreme Court of Kentucky.

Prior to joining Frost Brown Todd, he practiced law in Hart County, Kentucky, where he concentrated his work primarily on criminal defense in state and federal courts. 

Representative Matters

Chuck currently is or has served as counsel in several complex litigation matters, including but not limited to, the following:

  • Counsel in a $100 million coverage dispute between a medical device manufacturer and certain of its excess carriers arising from knee implant claims.
  • Representation of a pharmaceutical company in an action brought by the Kentucky Attorney General seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties for alleged violations of consumer protection law.
  • Representation of a medical device company in MDL - 2377 in Re: Pelvic Repair System Products Liability Litigation.
  • Representation of a medical device company in an action brought by the Kentucky Attorney General seeking injunctive relief and civil penalties for alleged violations of consumer protection laws. 
  • Representation of a medical device company in state court actions involving metal-on-metal hip implants.
  • Representation of various pharmaceutical companies in state court actions over the last 25 years involving numerous prescription and OTC drugs such as acetaminophen, fluoroquinolones, anti-psychotics, inflixinab, cerivastin, and pramipexole. 
  • National Coordinating Counsel in the defense of a polyurethane manufacturer MDL-926 in Re: Silicone Gel Breast Implant Litigation.
  • National Coordinating Counsel in the defense of a distributor of spinal fixation devices MDL-1014, in Re: Orthopedic Bone Screw Products Liability Litigation.
  • Representation of various medical device companies in state court over the last 25 years involving numerous devices such as heart catheters, mechanical heart valves, drug eluting stents, bare metal stents, surgical drills, insulin infusion pumps, and bipolar coagulator systems. 
  • Representation of tire and truck wheel manufacturers in wrongful death and catastrophic injury cases in Kentucky. 
  • Representation of general contractors in North Carolina arising out of the use of synthetic stucco as the exterior of commercial and residential structures. 
  • Representation of lawyers accused of professional negligence.
