Kathy has represented clients of Frost Brown Todd LLC in a variety of litigation matters, including personal injury, products liability, serial tort, medical device and mass disaster litigation. Kathy has defended personal injury and product liability matters in various state and federal courts. Kathy, along with other members of the Firm’s litigation department, has served as national coordinating counsel and national and regional counsel for various clients. Her practice also includes a concentration in the area of appellate practice and she has represented clients in appellate proceedings involving diverse matters, including products liability, commercial litigation, domestic relations and labor and employment matters.  Kathy also acts as Conflicts Counsel for Frost Brown Todd and serves on the Firm’s Ethics Committee.

Experience

Kathy has played a significant role in the defense of the Firm’s clients in the following cases, among others:

Defense of product suppliers and premises defendants in the asbestos litigation in multiple jurisdictions

Defense of a major cigarette manufacturer in smoking and health litigation in various jurisdictions. including statewide lawsuits consolidated and referred to the West Virginia Mass Litigation Panel. In Re Tobacco Litigation, 00-CA-5000, Circuit Court of Ohio County, West Virginia

Defense of multinational explosives and chemicals producer in civil litigation arising from the terrorist attack on the Oklahoma City federal building,Lena R. Gaines-Tabb v. Imperial Chemicals Industries, Inc., et al., United States District Court, Western District of Oklahoma.

Defense, as National Coordinating Counsel, of a distributor of spinal fixation devices in litigation in various jurisdictions, including In re Orthopedic Bone Screw Products Liability Litigation, MDL-1014, United States District Court, Eastern District of Pennsylvania

Defense, as National Coordinating Counsel, of a polyurethane manufacturer in the national breast implant litigation, including In re Silicone Gel Breast Implant Litigation, MDL-926, United States District Court, Northern District of Alabama
