Dan is a member of Frost Brown Todd and serves as the Chair for the Firm's toxic tort and chemical exposure group. Dan concentrates his practice on defending manufacturers, premises owners, and contractors in complex multiparty toxic exposure personal injury and wrongful death litigation. In this practice, Dan has represented clients in a wide range of industries including automotive and automotive parts manufacturers; energy providers; industrial and residential construction materials manufacturers and suppliers; chemical manufacturers; glass products manufacturers; pharmaceutical manufacturers; and construction contractors.

Dan has defended claims involving a wide variety of chemicals/particulates such as asbestos, silica, chromated copper arsenic, thimerosal, and coal tar pitch volatiles. Dan's experience serving as local, regional, and national counsel in these cases has given him unique insight into the needs of the client and the demands of the various types of litigation.

Prior to joining the firm, Dan was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable William I. Garrard of the Indiana Court of Appeals. Since joining the firm, Dan has maintained an active appellate practice and has participated in virtually every significant asbestos and silica appellate decision in Indiana. For many of those appellate decisions, Dan served as the lead appellate counsel including the seminal Indiana Supreme Court decision of AlliedSignal v. Ott, 785 N.E.2d 1068 (Ind. 2003).

Dan is active in Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana having served as the immediate past chair of the product liability section of this state wide organization. While chair, Dan started several new initiatives including an annual training seminar for young lawyers, a quarterly update, and improved tracking of relevant legislation. Dan has been an active member of the Defense Research Institute for a number of years. And Dan also serves on the Indiana Board of the American Lung Association.
