Erika is a member in the litigation department.  Erika's practice is primarily focused on acting as national coordinating counsel for manufacturers of consumer products.  Erika has experience defending manufacturers of glass homewares, hand held torches, roof shingles, food products and pharmaceutical products. 

Erika has also successfully litigated on behalf of clients in insurance coverage and bad faith actions.  She has defended commercial disputes, including banking matters, lease disputes, purchase disputes, foreclosures and commercial vendor disputes.

Erika has tried a wrongful death case which settled favorably mid-way through trial for her client.  She recently also won a defense verdict in a federal jury trial in a bad faith insurance action.  She has taken numerous depositions, argued before the 10th District Appellate Court and handled multiple hearings before Ohio courts and administrative review boards.

Erika is a member of the Firm’s Women’s Initiative Committee.  She is an active member of the Ohio Chapter of the MS Society and was a founding member of United Way Women Leadership Council of Central Ohio.  She also serves on the DRI Women in the Law Steering Committee.

Erika graduated with honors from the College of Wooster with an English degree and a concentration in Urban studies.  In Spring of 2004, she graduated from the Michael Moritz College of Law at Ohio State University.  During law school, Erika worked for the Ohio State Civil Clinic, interned for the Ohio State Defense Clinic and the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office, mediated at the Franklin County Municipal Court, interned at the Ohio State Legislature and volunteered for the Ohio State Supreme Court Mediation Section.

When the Consumer Products Safety Improvement Act of 2008 was ratified by both the House and the Senate, Congress took a leap forward to strengthen regulations within the juvenile products industry.
