Haifeng focuses his practice on U.S. corporate and commercial laws, advising clients with a variety of corporate and business matters such as business formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, leveraged buy-out, sales and product distributorship, joint ventures, intellectual property, and cross-border investment and transactions.
With respect to his cross-border investment and transactions practice, Haifeng has significant experiences in assisting Chinese and Asian clients with various projects in the U.S. involving strategic business planning and negotiation, economic incentives, corporate governance, stock and asset purchases, sales and product distributorship, real estate (including manufacturing plants and warehouses) acquisition and leasing, intellectual property licensing and assignment, and other commercial transactions. Additionally, he has coordinated with other attorneys as a team advising Chinese and Asian clients on issues related to business litigation, employment, international trade, immigration, and tax and regulatory compliance. His Chinese and Asian clients include multinational corporations, large publicly traded companies, medium and small-sized companies (including start-ups) and individuals doing business in the U.S. He also assists the U.S. businesses with their projects in China and Asia, including subsidiaries overseas, business alliances, outsourcing, product distributorship, franchise, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance issues.
Haifeng provides long-standing legal support to China/Asia-based companies, both the large publicly traded companies and the medium and small-sized companies, in connection with their business interests in the U.S. He graduated from Washington University School of Law, with both a J.D. and LL.M in Intellectual Property and Technology Law. In China, he graduated from Shanghai University School of Law, with a Bachelor of Law (LL.B.) degree. Haifeng came to the U.S. to study law in 2002, and has provided legal and business support to the companies and clients in the U.S. and China after law school. Regularly traveling to China, Haifeng speaks Mandarin and English as his working language, and is also familiar with several Chinese dialects.
