Jacob V. Bradley
Jake concentrates his practice in business litigation and white collar criminal defense. His practice is focused on solving his clients’ litigation challenges, including pre-suit negotiations and alternative dispute resolution. Jake has gained this experience through a variety of high-level commercial disputes and litigation, and has experience in all stages of litigation. Jake has extensive experience advising and defending financial institutions regarding predatory lending and consumer protection issues.
Jake also has extensive experience representing individual clients facing criminal allegations. Jake’s experience further includes representing undergraduate students in disciplinary proceedings and professionals before their respective licensing boards.
While in law school, Jake worked as a summer associate at the Firm (f/k/a Locke Reynolds) and served as a summer clerk for the Honorable Judith S. Proffitt, Hamilton County Circuit Court, Indiana.
Prior to entering the practice of law, Jake gained experience in retail banking, including personal and business lending, as well as investment sales, at National City Bank (now PNC Bank) in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Representative Matters
Drafted briefing and assisted with trial defending allegations of consumer protection act violations against lending institution in the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia.
Represented lending institution in multitude of related lawsuits, as both plaintiff and defendant, in disputes regarding related-borrowers’ defaults under a master loan agreement and various project loan agreements under it.
Co-chaired criminal trial of education administrator accused of failing to report child abuse.
Co-chaired defense of client accused of murder, including drafting and arguing motion to dismiss the allegations.
Extensive experience defending financial institutions against allegations of predatory lending, state common law claims, consumer protection violations, bankruptcy stay violations, and bankruptcy discharge violations in state, federal, and bankruptcy courts.
