Kevin Charles Murray concentrates his practice in governmental relations. For over 35 years, he has been involved in Indiana government and has extensive experience with the Indiana General Assembly. After serving as Counsel to the Democratic Caucuses of both the Senate and the House of Representatives, he served as Senate Parliamentarian. Kevin also serves as the Indiana Democratic Party Parliamentarian (2003-present).

In 2002, Kevin managed the successful election campaign of U.S. Marshal (Ret.) Frank J. Anderson as Marion County Sheriff. As General Counsel to Sheriff Anderson (2003-2010), Kevin helped end the 35 year old federal litigation over unconstitutional jail conditions in Marion County. As an appointed member of the Metropolitan Law Enforcement Consolidation Advisory Committee, Kevin helped create a new law enforcement agency for Indianapolis, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (2007).

In 2005, the Indiana Senate honored Kevin for his 30 years of public service, which included serving as Special Counsel to Governor Joseph Kernan and Senate Parliamentarian to Lt. Governor Katherine L. Davis from 2003 to 2005. During that time, he also served as the Governor's Policy Director for Indiana's Gaming Agencies - The Hoosier Lottery, the Indiana Gaming Commission and the Indiana Horseracing Commission.

In 2008, Kevin was admitted to the College of Architecture at Ball State University as a graduate student in Historic Preservation. Kevin is expanding his practice to include land use, zoning, urban planning and historic preservation.

In 2010, Kevin helped manage the campaign of Col. John Layton for Marion County Sheriff. Col. Layton won the election handily and led the county ticket with nearly 60% of the vote. Kevin continues to serve as General Counsel to the Marion County Sheriff's Office.
