Richard is a member in Frost Brown Todd's Cincinnati office in the firm's labor and employment practice group. He defends clients in federal and state court litigation arising from claims of wrongful termination and various types of employment discrimination, including claims arising from allegations of protected class discrimination, violations of the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and other statutory and common law claims. Richard also defends employers in workers’ compensation claims at both the administrative level and in court appeals. Richard is a frequent lecturer and author on topics related to employment law, workers' compensation, and electronic discovery.

Richard is a trustee of the Cincinnati Bar Association, the Mercantile Library Association, and the Cancer Support Community of Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky and is a member of the Black Lawyers Association of Cincinnati. He received his J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where he was a member of the Law Review. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from Bowling Green State University, specializing in Management Information Systems.

Experience

Successfully defended employers in actions brought pursuant to a variety of statutory and common law claims in both federal and state courts at both trial and appellate court levels and in arbitrations;

Assisted numerous clients in reaching beneficial resolution of claims through various forms of alternative dispute resolution;

First chair jury trial experience in both federal and state courts in a variety of litigation matters.
