Hospitals and other health care providers face continuing scrutiny from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), with its Office of Inspector General (OIG), and the U.S. Department of Justice, with its Civil and Criminal Divisions, and U.S. Attorneys offices, among others, using a variety of investigative methods such as OIG and Criminal Grand Jury Subpoenas and civil and criminal investigative demands, and from comparable state agencies using equivalent methods.

FBT’s attorneys include former Assistant U.S. Attorneys and other former enforcement personnel who actively advise our clients on responding to criminal and quasi-criminal investigations. We assist our clients in conducting internal and external investigations, and we represent individual and corporate clients in related civil, criminal, and agency proceedings. Our relevant work experience includes defense of companies and individuals charged in Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse investigations. We have defended individuals and companies charged with Medicare and Medicaid fraud and abuse, antitrust, civil and criminal RICO, and other serious offenses.
