KFC connection helped land new Long John Silver’s CEO

Before James O'Reilly was chief brand officer at Sonic Drive-In and before he worked at Einstein Noah Restaurant Group, O'Reilly was an executive at KFC Corp.  — a job that incidentally helped him land his latest position as CEO of Long John Silver's Inc. 

Long John Silver's is privately owned by LJS Partners LLC, an investment group that purchased the fast-food seafood chain in 2011 from Louisville-based Yum! Brands Inc. (NYSE: YUM), KFC's parent company.
