Demand for lawyers with energy expertise on the uptick in Pittsburgh
Demand for energy lawyers is picking up in Pittsburgh.
Dianne McClelland, founder and owner of McClelland Legal Search, which has offices downtown and in Canonsburg, said energy lawyer searches have tripled compared to a year ago.
“We’ve seen a very strong energy component for traditional lawyers and a mix of other practice specialties — litigation, transactional and real estate,” she said.
Law firms are seeking specialized practitioners, broadening their expertise to corporate clients. This enables them to capitalize on opportunities while avoiding the pitfalls of the recent energy-sector slowdown, which impacted traditional title work involving leases and property sales for drilling purposes.
