Legislation could codify blockchain in Tennessee

Tennessee - and Nashville in particular - could reap the economic fruits of a blockchain boom, but only with the help of the Tennessee General Assembly, according to local distributed ledger experts who briefed state legislators Wednesday.

"We're ripe for the development of this technology," John Wagster, a Frost Brown Todd attorney whose practice includes blockchain and digital currency, said during a hearing of the Tennessee House's business and utilities committee.
