International Technology Attorney Joins Frost Brown Todd’s Nashville Office

Frost Brown Todd continues to strengthen its international practice with the addition of John S. Wagster, former General Counsel and Executive Vice President of Freeborders, Inc.  Wagster, a member of the firm, focuses his time on helping U.S. companies forge cross-cultural contractual arrangements around the world using industry best practices and western-style contracts. 

Wagster was with Freeborders, a California-based technology services company with offices in North America, Europe and Asia, for seven years.  Freeborders (now Symbio) specializes in custom software development and consulting services.  Wagster's responsibilities included global legal strategy; negotiating software development, licensing and support contracts; mergers and acquisitions; establishing, filing and maintaining legal entities and intercompany agreements for all subsidiaries; customer, vendor and strategic contract negotiations; dispute resolution; Foreign Corrupt Practices Act compliance; identifying, evaluating and selecting foreign partners and office locations; cross-cultural employee management; and overseeing outside counsel as necessary.

In his work with Frost Brown Todd, Wagster will continue to provide legal services to Symbio and its affiliates while bringing his Silicon Valley experience to Frost Brown Todd clients.  He will also utilize his technology experience in combination with his background in healthcare policy and venture capital to serve clients in Nashville's burgeoning healthcare technology sector. Wagster also practices general business law and works with clients to export ecommerce and web-based applications to overseas markets.
