Barry is a member in the Louisville office and is the former Practice Group Leader of the CMBS Lending and Servicing practice group. His practice is heavily concentrated in representing lenders and servicers in connection with commercial real estate and capital markets transactions. His clients include CMBS lenders that originate commercial mortgage loans nationwide as well as master and special servicers.

Barry is a member of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers where he serves as member of the Board of Governors. He is listed in the Best Lawyers in America© (2006-2017), Kentucky Super Lawyers® (2007-2016) and is AV® Pre-eminent rated in Martindale-Hubbell®.  He is also listed in Chambers USA®, America’s Leading Lawyers for Business (2003-2017), where he was recognized as “… a brilliantly able attorney with a phenomenal legal mind” and “He is great to work with – eminently practical and reasonable.”

Barry is a graduate of the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law, where he graduated cum laude and was the Senior Editor of the Law Review. From 1987 through 1990, Barry served as a bank examiner for the federal regulatory agency of the Farm Credit System. In that capacity, Barry performed comprehensive examinations, including evaluation of loan documentation, asset quality and credit administration, for Farm Credit System lending institutions throughout the states of Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee.
