Doug has a unique background that enables him to help a wide variety of clients with their intellectual property needs. While he has degrees in physics and aerospace engineering, he also has experience as a test pilot and carrier-based fighter pilot for the United States Navy during which he obtained extensive experience in the development and testing of aircraft and aircraft systems including gas turbine engines, flight controls, navigation systems and avionics, as well as analyzing and determining the causes of aircraft accidents.

As a registered patent attorney and a member of our Intellectual Property Practice Group, Doug focuses on developing and protecting the intellectual property assets of his clients, while guiding them in respecting the intellectual property rights of others. He assists clients with patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright issues in a variety of industries, including agriculture, aviation, automotive, lighting, medical, manufacturing, telecommunications and sporting equipment.

Most recently, Doug was accepted into the Indiana Leadership Forum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to educating Indiana's most talented business and community leaders about government, politics and policy to prepare them for greater civic involvement and leadership roles in their communities.
