Luke is a litigator and a member of the construction law group.  He specializes in construction litigation and represents owners, construction managers, contractors, architects, engineers, and material suppliers in payment disputes, contract negotiations, mechanics liens, surety bond issues, and all forms of litigation.  Luke is admitted to practice law in Ohio, Kentucky, and Indiana. 

Since graduating from The Ohio State Moritz College of Law in 2007, Luke has co-chaired over ten jury trials in various counties and has obtained defense verdicts in residential and complex commercial property damage and defect cases, industrial accident cases, landlord tenant disputes, and personal injury matters.  Luke also has notable criminal defense litigation trial experience, having obtained not guilty verdicts in DUI cases and against voluntary manslaughter charges. In addition to his trial experience, he has taken and defended hundreds of depositions, arbitrated numerous cases, and participated in multi-million dollar mediations.

Luke is a native Cincinnatian, proud husband and father of four, an alumnus of Elder High School, the University of Notre Dame, and the Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.  He is the former Chair of the Cincinnati Bar Association Construction Law Committee.  He is an active member of Allied Construction Industries (ACI) and a frequent speaker to large and small groups of construction industry professionals on various topics ranging from pay dispute strategies to best practices in construction contracting.  Luke is also a former adjunct professional in Trial Advocacy at Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.

  • Representation of Ohio school district in multi-million dollar recovery against multiple design and construction professionals in regard to HVAC project.
  • Representation of a wide variety of contractors in pay disputes and mechanics lien disputes, resulting in the recovery of millions of dollars for clients
  • Defense verdict in favor of material supplier client in a mechanic’s lien dispute on multi-million dollar home construction dispute
  • Arbitration award in favor of general contractor client against subcontractor in payment dispute
  • Defense verdict in commercial fire loss case for HVAC contractor client
  • Defense verdict in landlord tenant dispute involving catastrophic personal injuries and building code violation allegations
  • Defense verdict in industrial accident claim on behalf of interstate trucking entity
  • Multiple not guilty verdicts in criminal defense trials, including not guilty verdict returned for voluntary manslaughter charge
  • Defense and dismissal of claims brought against prominent national architect in multi-million dollar claim by local university
  • Defense of geo-technical engineering firm in multi-million dollar catastrophic landslide case
  • Defense of various construction professionals against claims of negligence, breach of contract, and breach of warranty
  • Negotiation of complex contract agreements
