Physician Agreements

We work with hospitals in negotiating and drafting a wide variety of agreements with individual physicians and with physician practice groups, including physician recruitment agreements, medical director agreements, and direct employment agreements. With respect to recruitment agreements, we have broad experience in revenue and net income guarantees, sign-on bonuses, marketing allowances, relocation payments, and the many other incentives hospitals use in recruiting and retaining individual physicians and physicians joining group practices. We deal regularly with hospital administrative personnel and, where appropriate, compensation and valuation consultants, in creating and operating compensation arrangements and joint venture capital contribution and profit sharing arrangements in order to satisfy Federal and State legal requirements. We have significant experience dealing with Federal and State income tax aspects of these arrangements as well as Federal and State health care regulatory requirements.
